Calligraphy

Seigfred Hall is Ohio Universities main art building on campus, where this display can be found on the fourth floor. The pages are tacked up on a cork background within a glass case. It can probably be assumed that students were allowed freedom over what they chose to write, all of the pieces of copy paper being different from one another. In this photo we can see all sorts of calligraphy styles in alternate color, size, and shape.

Calligraphy took hold in Chinese art where it first gained importance. Writings done in calligraphy were very delicately produced and it was said that the person who printed upon works integrity and worth could be measured through their brushstrokes.
