Doric Column

In Ancient Rome and Greece, columns were highly relevant, being utilized as a structural element as well as an artistic addition. The original column was, however, borrowed from the Minoan culture, as they were the first to actually create these cylindrical statues.

Signifying the entrance of Lincoln Hall on east green of Ohio Universities campus, these Doric style columns can be found. They are an aspect of the building that supports an overhanging structure while supplying an attractive sight for a passerby.
